I've never had a professional massage before.  What should I expect on my first visit?

How exciting! Typically you will have filled out the online intake form. This is so I know a little bit about you and what you are looking for in the massage session. I always like to discuss a little bit about your expectations so I understand your goals for each session, and this is especially important on your first visit. Once inside the massage room, I will go over additional information about what to expect in the massage session. I will give you an opportunity to ask any questions. I typically do not talk during a massage unless you want to talk.

What kind of oil or lotion do you use?

I have yet to find a massage oil that I truly love that doesn't leave you feeling greasy. Therefore I use an all natural vegan cream called Sacred Earth Botanicals. For ingredient information click here.

My last therapist had really thin scratchy sheets.  What are your sheets like?

I primarily use Comphy sheets which are a really nice, thick microfiber spa sheet. I also sell them for home use as well. You can learn more about Comphy sheets by clicking here.

What kind of training did you get to become a massage therapist?

I attended the Healing Arts Institute in Bozeman, MT. Unfortunately, they are no longer open. My program was 1,000 hours and took a full year to complete. To obtain a massage license, I had to pass the MBLEx (Massage and Bodywork Examination) in order to be nationally certified and licensed. To maintain my licensure, I need to complete 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years. To verify my active licensure status, click here.

What kind of massage do you specialize in?

I enjoy creating a truly personalized experience. Some people just want to relax and others want tension spots worked out. My techniques tend to be a blend of both relaxation and therapeutic while incorporating a wide variety of modalities.

I can't decide between a 60 minute massage or a 90 minute massage?

This depends on what your goals are, what areas of the body you want worked and if you’ve never had a massage before. 60 minutes is a perfect amount of time if you’ve never had a massage before or if you just want upper or lower body work. 90 minutes is perfect for full body massage and also for those who have a hard time relaxing. Often times, you don’t start to fully let go and relax until about 45 minutes into a massage. Full body in 60 minutes is certainly possible, however if at the end of the massage you are wishing the massage wouldn’t end then try 90 minutes next time.

How do I buy a gift certificate and when does it expire?

Where are you located?

My massage studio is located inside my home in Windsor, CO. I live in the Highland Meadows neighborhood, just off of Crooked Stick Dr and Highland Meadows Pkwy. Because this is a home office and my husband also works from home, I kindly ask that you don't arrive any earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment.
